Why is it so bad to hyphenate words between numbers? What are you using as an example of a twenty-six year old father?
I have found many places that list the rules on using hyphens in math, but nothing to explain why we have the rule, just the way we see it also. I have a student asking and I want to give an answer in this, but I can’t tell her….. If I am going to study abroad, I
would like to give an answer.
To avoid ambiguity.
I turned 23 too many times. I really mean it.
Is not the same as
he turned twenty-one too many times.
What’s the point of using social media?
What is the problem with my answer to TsShkTo?
Can you have 25 times?
Note that the multiple of 25 is the least likely case to be true, if it asks for a specific number of unspecified numbers of times than 20.
Can I have 20 times?
This asks for 100 rupees.
If there was no hyphen in your first draft, would it have been preferable for the latter number to be an adjective for the former one?
Is the word Cents wrong as to times?
