An article before ‘custom/default/’ can’t precede a keyword to ‘custom’ ().

How can I use an article?

I have bad knowledge on physics. It makes me unable to understand basic concepts.

Is it appropriate to use

an adjective before an article?

Google is

what the default starting page in Chrome, for example.
or
Google is the default start page in the Google Chrome browser.

Does default require an article? And there are other examples like custom... Could

you please explain this. Let me know if I have made a mistake.
