Word to describe apprehension about what you’re excited about not happening
Is there one emotion to describe the emotion of being simultaneously excited about the prospect of something and dreading the prospect of it not happening? What I can think of is “disappointment” but I don’t think that covers a future tense hypothetical..
I’m excited because I know that these companies are
going to offer me the job but I’m worried that they won’t”. Would

one of the processes of making woollen cloth? After it had been woven, the cloth still contained oils from the fleece, mixed with dust. It was cleaned in a fulling mill, but then it had to be dry carefully or it would shrink and crease. Why these wet cloths were stretched in wooden frames? And then left out in the open all the time, for a long time. But this allowed them to dry and straightened their weave. These frames were the tenters, and the tenter hooks were the metal hooks used to fix the cloth to the frame. At one time, it would have been common in manufacturing areas to see fields full of these frames (older English maps sometimes marked an area as a tenter-field). Who ever received the tenterhook was in state of suspense, stretched like cloth on the tenter. If lied to me like this while lying in a tenterhooks state the tenterhook isn’t buried from her, what could she be doing about that?
