Use of /beginning/ /verbs for a verb.

Then came an unexpected tragedy: “Since the beginning of her journey, (…)., and she now takes away her life. ” – this sentence most likely is correct, right? When here commencing is used as a noun.

Since beginning her journey, .. Is this sentence so? At first I thought it sounds ridiculous and it lacks the words ‘the’ and ‘of’ but then I thought how would the ‘beginning’ word be said if the ‘name’ was not a verb?

How do

they make sure that they’ve followed them from “since starting her journey, .” “Starting her journey” in Greek. ” but using “beginning” instead of’starting’.
