Who asks a question is called…?

Let’s say you have a collection of books, and someone asks your opinion. How would that person be named in one word?

What does that sound like?

What is “requester”?

Do note though that this is a word that most native English speakers would never use, instead of saying the likes of “the person requesting the books”.

Should I use “Requester” when I have “requestrequest” in my code?

I’ve used Baz’s requester for several years, but if you don’t feel comfortable using that, maybe you can use solicitor, petitioner or

supplicant. I do in particular prefer those who use Baz’s requester but can’t quite use it yet.
