Leonard’s mother is a therapist, thereby probably conversant with psychoanalysis, in which the technical term used by Freud is “the unconscious as in mind.” Freud has had three levels of mind. She usually uses the

word words “inspiration” and “incredible”. And when you have lapse of tongue or bungled act, this speech and action respectively are said to be due to the unconscious, the deepest level and not just under the surface (subconscious). Freud was not able to locate lapses to a subconscious level. It is said to emanate from the unconscious.

What are slips of the tongue, and what are not? In English, these are known as: Freudian slips.
