assume all English teachers say that possessive adjective always comes first, as in “my dear friend” and “my private idaho”, and we never say “dear my friend.” What is the correct word order for possessive adjective, attributive adjective, and noun? I have learned that in a country non English speaking, Japan for example, the word order is sometimes off and people there usually accept both “my dear friend” and “dear my friend” as correct English. Do you think that ‘dear’ is a different verb from ‘to my friend’? Or does it just seem that they are doing it for a reason? Is this type of misunderstanding also the case in “dear my love”?
