What makes someone introduce themselves by their name? Say I want to introduce Dr. Samuels (who introduces herself as Susie-Q) to Dr. Smith. Why is that? I can’t describe my superior Susie-Q without mentioning that the nickname wasn’t my idea. What is the word for someone’s chosen form of address?
