In what sense is reactionary. One who is reacting to a change as opposed to it wanting to be back, and wants to try and fix the previous status quo? Reactionaries are seen as an conservative social force, and have their problem(s) with the progressives.
What does it mean to be an incredibly defensive person, when the current status quo does not matter?
Many different kinds of people can react against currently the status quo but most are doing so to achieve specific goals that are important to them.
Mais some people will just react against the status quo no matter what it is, because “hey, I’m a rebel. It’s tough,” they say. If their apparent goals were achieved they would simply react against the new status quo. Are there any signs of any increase?
Children test boundaries by reacting against their parents – rebelling is an end in itself and not necessarily due to a deep seated rejection of whatever it is.
I’m looking to a term that captures the knee-jerk nature of this reaction, that have in many people the same negative connotations as reactionary has, i.e. reactionary reaction.. Are the rebels practically algorithmic rather than intellectually
