To me, inasmuch as the use of the word function referring to software means the extent of its overall ability, “The software implements the following functionality”. Undoubtedly, I have seen, from my Indian counterparts, “The software implements the following functionalities “. Why can’t they be all of the functionality which is actually in in the software version, but they might be in the software version.” ” To me, this sounds awkward and wrong. In fact, as I typed functionality, the text box editor underlines it in red. I think functionality is a plural of functionality and I don’t know why it should be flagged. However, I guess that’s not my question. My question is as in the title; are both examples above correct inasmuch as the software quite obviously will implement more than one piece of functionality.

As per comments on the site, let me rephrase my story. Are both the examples of the above English correct? What does the same message go through both of them? How is the way I’m employing functionality only feels pluripolished, but that was not the essence of my question.
